Since completing their circumnavigation Bill and Alicia Blodgett are living in Palm Beach, Florida. They are both enthusiastic tennis players.
Bill says he “flunked retirement” when he decided to buy Holland Pump Company manufacturers of construction hydraulic submersible pumps. He also keeps active as a board member of the Palm Beach Civic Association, Palm Beach Atlantic University and the American Cancer Society.
Alicia has filled her days by becoming active in civic and charitable activities. She has chaired events for the American Cancer Society and the Children’s Home Society. She sits on the boards of the United Way, American Cancer Society and The Children’s Home Society. She has served the American Heart Association, Easter Seals, Juvenile Diabetes, Boy’s and Girl’s Club and other worthy causes.
Alicia received The Charitable Achievement Award from the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce and was nominated as a Wachovia and Junior League Woman Volunteer of the Year.
She was honored with the national award of Distinguished Women at the 32nd Annual Ceremonies of Northwood University in 2001 and as a Woman of Distinction by Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2005.
Alicia says, “My greatest gift of all is Bill and our combined family. Not a day goes by that I don’t thank God for sending me the man of my dreams.”
