Product description...

Poetrinese is a name that I invented to describe the language of poetry, or at least, my style of writing poetry. It is a fun type of writing without restrictions on format. This book of poetry, we hope, takes one across the whole spectrum of emotions from the happy, good old days of youth to our future in “Heaven.” This is a book with a strong content of spiritual poems. My intend in this respect is to first give praise to our Lord Jesus Christ, then to encourage Christians as we face the problems of today’s world. I wish to remind Christians that we should be the happiest people on earth because of this personal relationship with Jesus. We have Him to share our burden with and to carry us when we need this help. He is always just a prayer away. He is the power that we are plugged into and all we have to do to access that power, is to call on His name in faith. In section two, we have poems that honor our military personnel. We give them a big thank you for providing the earthly protection for this great country, our families and ourselves. We have our freedom and liberty, not because of the President or the Congress, but because of our military and the thousands who have served in our armed forces, many giving their all for us. We attempt to promote patriotism with such poems as “Celebrate America” and “Still Standing.” We warn of danger if we fail to live up to our responsibilities as good citizens as noted in “Destruction Of America” and are asking that “God Forgive” and turn us back to Him. We enjoy and feature the beauty we find in nature and her land, sea and sky with poems about water, flowers and “Moonlight World.” We find good times on “Boat Ride” and “Sailing” and are most sorrowful with “ The Sinking,” a poem about the Titanic. We explore weather, especially “Winter” and “Winter Winds.” The months of the year are each presented with information about the major events, flower, gemstone and sign of the month. Then we have poems that just might make you smile or remember your good times. We didn’t forget to add stories with adventures like “American Travels,” “The Lonesome Tombstone,” and “The Bison.” To give us stronger character, we offer “Word Power.” There are writings that may cause you to smile as those about family lead me to smile and remember too.

Author Information...

Tommy EstesThis book is the work of a person who has seen much change in life from the blackboard and paddles to I-Pads and E-Books and poor discipline in our schools and nation. I was raised to respect others and especially our elders, but find these elements rapidly disappearing in our current culture. Thomas Edison warned about too many inventions taking away our relationships with other people and with all the electronics, that is true. I was raised as a poor boy on a small farm in western Arkansas. With help from my Lord, I was able to attend and graduate from Arkansas Tech University. I was proud to have served my duty in the military of the United States. I taught and coached school for 35 years. After I retired, I traveled some and enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing golf. Bad health brought an end to many of my physical activities. Then God stepped in once again and replaced what I had lost with writing. He gave me the ability to see or hear something and to turn that into a poem. I am glad to be able to share this God-given talent with others in a positive and spiritual way. I make my home and do my writing in Northwest Arkansas.
