Product description...

“Mom, I came home to say goodbye.”

The devastating disease of addiction has reached epidemic proportions and our nation's children are dying at alarming rates. Parents everywhere are desperate to know what they can do to save their children. Crazed: The Parent's Handbook to Addiction is a tremendous resource for anyone held hostage to the cunning and baffling disease of addiction. Taking a fresh look at what really goes on with families and children who are suffering from the disease of addiction has become an indisputable mandate. In this no nonsense approach to the disease of addiction and to prohibit any parent from being lured into the false belief that addicts must be abandoned, alternate approaches are now available. Crazed: The Parent's Handbook to Addiction has the potential to change the uncivilized trend of society to cast out addicts, which often ends with their untimely death and the accompanying life sentence of indescribable grief and loss for the family. No parent or loved should ever have to bury their child due to a treatable disease, nor have to suffer in silence. It’s time we force this conversation.

Author Information...

Carol Anne Savage, L.M.H.CCarol Anne Savage is a Licensed Mental Health Therapist who has spent a lifetime trying to understand the devastation of addiction. Realizing that no other parent should have to say “Goodbye” to a child whose addiction was just too powerful to overcome, she knew that resources had to be available. Her professional experience of having worked as an educator and therapist in various mental health facilities, emergency rooms, prison and now in private practice has armed this former Marine with an arsenal of information. In her first book, the author brazenly jumps out with a fierce determination that demands respect for the indisputable love a parent has for their child. As she moves in her straightforward and sometimes humorous approach to educate and empower parents and loved ones with the hope they will understand the disease of addiction, she teaches parents and loved ones how to utilize appropriate self care skills and reminds them to never lose sight of their child's potential. This first time author proves to be a force to reckon with as she writes from the mind of a psychotherapist, the courage of a Marine, and from the heart of a mother.
