Product description...

“’L’IMPORTANT C’EST LA PENSÉE.”

What is important is the thought, the remembrance. A train from long ago, its iron head journeying along tracks that span a continent…pansies clustered together beneath a living room window…the pale freckles and auburn hair of Verona Lafayette…a tiny embroidery sewing case that frees a woman from housekeeping to live with her poet once more. Valerie Fauteux’s collection of thirty-four stories captures those nicely remembered details of life which resonate with all of us who are easily beckoned to our childhood and to the spontaneous joy and balance of those days of a more innocent life. For the Love of Pierre skillfully suggests how we can find a new heaven and earth…or perhaps rediscover the ones that have been lost.

Author Information...

Valerie FauteuxVALERIE FAUTEUX is a resident of Montreal, Quebec. « In 2009. Gary Boyd, a communcations professor and guide, brought me a journal as a gift, with pens and markers to write in it; he had pre-autographed it--writing my name in a colourful orange. After a few months of writing in my diary, I had an idea for the book you are about to read: happy lives, altered by the caprices of fate... and the search for and return to the characters' early ideals.  One day, I saw Marie-chantal compiling a Book of prayers or meditation at a women's centre of which I am a member. She decorated it with illuminations;these reminded me of texts created by monks in Medieval Europe. Could I write my own book? I was inspired by the people in my community. Nancy, a friend, wondered if I was interested in someting creative. We established an e-e-mail relationship. One very helpful message from Nancy contained a video showing two children within a music box--seemingly lifeless. Suddenly, they came alive and began to dance together. The image is recorded in my anecdote entitled "Love's Cusp". For several years now, my pastime has extended to photography and journal writng. I ceased doing translation contracts to pursue my path:recreating my past and suggesting a better future. RAINBOWS RULE! This July, 2012, A revised edition of my book has been placed on sale on several websites.»
