He developed the strength and resilience to persist in the face of adversity. Insights learned from his experiences reshaped his courage and moral strength. He learned a crucial lesson about choices and responses – a person may not always make wise choices, but they can learn and mature spiritually. Following his military service, Ben returned to college.
