Ben Thieu Long and Darleen Long (pseudonyms) were raised with a strong Christian foundation by their devout mother. However, their father had lost his faith while serving in World War II and turned to alcohol to cope. His subsequent behavior vacillated between benign neglect and periodic outbursts, leaving anxiety, fear, and self-doubt in its wake. This family environment left the children damaged in ways they neither recognized nor controlled. This book chronicles their journey to recover and reestablish their faith.

Darleen cautioned, “Deep secrets don’t stay buried. And then you quoted that verse, ‘Greater is HE that is in you than he that is in the world’.”
