JEREMY HALADYNA is both composer and novelist; ALIEN TRUCKER forms the second volume of a paranormal trilogy. Jeremy is a screenwriting pupil of the late Edward Dmytryk, the renowned Hollywood director, and holds two degrees in mass media from the University of Texas. He has worked for two NPR affiliates, producing dozens of local documentaries and is himself a performing artist heard on several labels, in both his own music and that of others. As composer he holds the Lili Boulanger Prize and has released original music on the innova, Neuma, Centaur and Albany labels. His mega-work, the Mayan Cycle, includes well over 35 numbers and has evolved over a nearly 40-year period. During the 29 years he taught at UC Santa Barbara, Jeremy created and supervised a project which saw half a dozen full-length musicals written by a team of students. Each team he would school in the process of concocting book and score utterly from scratch. Five of these were conceived for television, broadcast and/or streamed on University of California Television (UCTV). From 2003-2019 Jeremy directed UC Santa Barbara’s Ensemble for Contemporary Music. He is now Emeritus faculty. Jeremy’s websites are: www.mayancycle.com & jeremyhaladyna.com. Praise for Jeremy Haladyna’s OXTAIL (2022)—“Jeremy Haladyna’s novel Oxtail is a madcap romp...well-paced with boldly-drawn characters...an engaging story...Haladyna offers delightful “a-ha!” moments that recall earlier details.” [BlueInk Review]
