WOULD YOU RIDE SHOTGUN WITH ALIEN TRUCKER?

An ovine alien commander from the Pleiades descends to Area 51 with a hybrid stowaway...groomed for a secret mission. This handsome blonde imposter with the green eyes will replace a big rig trucker who’s been abducted just to make room. Stranded in Earth orbit, the fate of a leaking Pleiadian craft now turns on him—this dashing hybrid— as a last hope. And so our Alien Trucker works through the gears and drives off into the magic of the Four Corners, right down the yellow stripe of America’s Southwestern roads. But what strange characters cross his path...full of such mystical powers of their own! Are they placed there to frustrate his design? Our Trucker’s search becomes much more than a quest to save his fellow Pleiadians. It becomes—in the truest sense—a migration like those of the Zuni and Hopi ancients. If it leads him to some of the very same places, it’s with a result that can only be described as strange...unsettling...yet also world-affirming. Would you dare ride shotgun with an Alien Trucker? So you would? Then come aboard this red Peterbilt with the coffin sleeper...and may you survive the ride!

About the Author

Jeremy Haladyna

JEREMY HALADYNA is both composer and novelist; ALIEN TRUCKER forms the second volume of a paranormal trilogy. Jeremy is a screenwriting pupil of the late Edward Dmytryk, the renowned Hollywood director, and holds two degrees in mass media from the University of Texas. He has worked for two NPR affiliates, producing dozens of local documentaries and is himself a performing artist heard on several labels, in both his own music and that of others. As composer he holds the Lili Boulanger Prize and has released original music on the innova, Neuma, Centaur and Albany labels. His mega-work, the Mayan Cycle, includes well over 35 numbers and has evolved over a nearly 40-year period. During the 29 years he taught at UC Santa Barbara, Jeremy created and supervised a project which saw half a dozen full-length musicals written by a team of students. Each team he would school in the process of concocting book and score utterly from scratch. Five of these were conceived for television, broadcast and/or streamed on University of California Television (UCTV). From 2003-2019 Jeremy directed UC Santa Barbara’s Ensemble for Contemporary Music. He is now Emeritus faculty. Jeremy’s websites are: www.mayancycle.com & jeremyhaladyna.com. Praise for Jeremy Haladyna’s OXTAIL (2022)—“Jeremy Haladyna’s novel Oxtail is a madcap romp...well-paced with boldly-drawn characters...an engaging story...Haladyna offers delightful “a-ha!” moments that recall earlier details.” [BlueInk Review]
