JEREMY HALADYNA is best known as a composer, having released original music on the innova, Neuma, and Centaur labels. He appears as a performing artist on other labels, too, in music other than his own. During the 29 years he taught young composers at UC Santa Barbara, he created and supervised a project which saw half a dozen full-length musicals written by a team of students. Each team he would school in the process…book and score utterly from scratch. Five of these musicals were conceived for television and were broadcast and/or streamed on University of California Television (UCTV). Jeremy is a screenwriting pupil of the late Edward Dmytryk, the renowned Hollywood Director, and holds two degrees in mass media from the University of Texas. Over seven years he worked for two NPR affiliates, authoring radio copy and producing dozens of local documentaries and features. At UC Santa Barbara, Jeremy contributed mounds of program notes for concerts of all descriptions, liner notes, and occasional articles to music journals. From 2003-2019 he directed UCSB’s Ensemble for Contemporary Music. He is now Emeritus faculty. Jeremy’s websites are: www.mayancycle.com,
