Stories from the Shelter will surprise, endear, frustrate, amuse, amaze, challenge, sadden, teach and much more.
Guests of shelters for homeless persons are often seen as anonymous individuals, with troubled pasts and problematic futures. Yet each has a story. These stories were collected from staff, volunteers and guests of St. Francis Center—a nonprofit refuge for homeless men and women in metro Denver since 1983. These are stories of memorable moments, incidents, successes and tragedies. They tell of hidden knowledge and talents.
