There was a puppy named Lee. He was as sweet as he could be. Lee’s life wasn’t the same When that big cat came. Because it was a stray, Mom brought it into the house to stay. The puppy wasn’t happy anymore When the cat came through the door. The cat was nothing but trouble the day it came. That’s how the cat got its name! Lee soon became depressed. He always got blamed for that big cat’s mess. How does the story end? Will the cat and the puppy ever become friends?

Anne Toole

Anne Toole grew up in Williston, South Carolina. She graduated from Anderson Jr. College in Anderson, South Carolina. She is also a graduate of the University of Georgia. Ms. Toole taught first grade for thirty years in Augusta, Georgia. She has always enjoyed reading and writing poetry. After retiring, Ms. Toole worked part-time as an ESOL teacher and began writing stories about children and animals. Most of the stories are written in verse. Ms. Toole has always liked to travel. She has traveled extensively in the United States, Canada, and Europe. She has also traveled in Northern Africa and the Middle East. She presently resides in Columbia, South Carolina. Ms. Toole is also the author of Mean Mike, The Bird That Didn’t Want To Be A Bird, The Frog That Lost His Croak, A Dog Named Cat, The Crow and the Big Oak Tree, Stan, The Little Turtle, Fat Maxine, and Lily Pearl.
