A Magical Space/Time Adventure!

In the fourth book of the series, Sophie the Siamese and Max the mutt return for more spacetime adventures. Risking the perils of mixing magic and science, Sophie continues to seek a way of returning to her human form as Olivia Jordan, research scientist. Max is her skeptical accomplice, afraid of jeopardizing his comfortable life with Angelo Cavaliere, owner of the White Knight Bookstore. The 900-year-old wizard, Linus Archimedes, and his alter ego, Linus Archer, are back along with Madame Giselle and Angelo’s grandchildren, Rosemary and Joey. Lurking in the university hallways, the evil Edgar Cavendish persists in looking for research that he can claim as his own. And, since Sophie can’t resist poking her feline nose into Madame Giselle’s personal life, we meet her daughter, Zoe, and a little mouse named Milo. When Sophie overhears a conversation between Angelo, Madame Giselle, and Zoe, she learns that the daughter is a university student who is following in the scientific footsteps of her absent father. Milo Kandeski was a brilliant astrophysicist who mysteriously disappeared when Zoe was a baby. She finds her father’s old research notebooks in the storage room of her mother’s shop. A college friend and an elderly math professor help Zoe make sense of her father’s notes. She learns that, at the time of his disappearance, her father was studying the use of wormholes as a way of traveling through space and time. In the process of cleaning out the storage room, a small mouse is evicted from his home among dusty books and miscellaneous junk. When the little rodent crosses paths with Sophie and Max, he introduces himself as Milo. Sophie immediately jumps to the conclusion that Milo the mouse must be Zoe’s father. After all, she herself had magically transformed from Olivia Jordan to a Siamese cat! With Linus’ help, Sophie and Max attempt to explain the disappearance of Zoe’s father and uncover the mouse’s true identity.
