After thirty-five years as a teacher, Dorothy Sweet Calhoun began her new career as a writer, which has allowed her to continue pursuing her educational and teaching interests. She believes that a child’s success in adulthood begins with being taught powerful, positive concepts and about consequences very early in life. In addition teaching, Dorothy wrote curriculum and served as an assistant principal. She was named Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers, awarded All American Scholar, and honored twice as an Unsung Hero. Dorothy continues to serve her community and her church, and often serves her school as a substitute teacher. She is the author of Why Dinosaurs Are Extinct and Six Bees for Children: A Collection of Educational Wisdoms.
