WHEN LAST HAVE YOU REALLY PREACHED HIS GOSPEL?

Aren’t you tired of not knowing what to say...and not being sure of how to reach the lost? Isn’t it full time for God’s people to arise and get busy in the harvest field... and incidentally, how many disciples have you made recently? Purposeful Evangelism and Missions is an integral part of your answer. It forces you to confront yourself in light of the neglected, misrepresented and frequently-debated Great Commission. You too will discover as you read this little book ... some real, relevant, radical “Missing Dimensions” that, if considered, could possibly revolutionize your life.

Book Excerpt

In the same way that the devout, God-fearing Cornelius (Acts 10), the zealous, religious Saul of Tarsus (Acts 9) and the spiritually thirsty Ethiopian Eunuch (Acts 8:26-40) all needed their personal encounters with Jesus Christ, we too all need to be Born Again.

It really does not matter, from God’s perspective, whether you are a teacher of the Law like Nicodemus (John 3), a dealer in purple cloth like Lydia (Acts 16: 13-15), a high-ranking official like the pro-consul Sergius Paulus (Acts 13:6-12) or a violent blasphemer and murderer like Saul (1 Tim. 1:12-16)… the plan of salvation remains the same for all.

This is so, even though countless intellectuals have reasoned away the need for a biblically-based salvation, and the liberal theologians have redefined God’s requirements, to exclude concepts such as blood atonement, Christ’s substitutionary death, regeneration, repentance and personal faith in Jesus Christ.

We certainly have not been rescued by Almighty God, simply to lie down in green pastures and drink our belly full from the still waters, without being genuinely concerned for those who are continuously being mauled by the lions and bears in the dark, arid, lonely places. It is essential, if we claim to be followers of Jesus Christ, that we develop the same love and compassion as he had for the “harassed and helpless” who were “like sheep without a shepherd” (Matt. 9:36), and for whom more workers are desperately needed.

None of us knows for certain how much more fruit-bearing years we have on this earth, at what time Jesus will return to judge the living and the dead or when death will come knocking at our doors.

As we live out our Christian lives, on a daily basis, whether as platform ministers or lifestyle evangelists, we have a clear mandate from God to proclaim the Gospel; evangelizing the lost and discipling the converted.

I might be an excellent administrator, a gifted musician, an eloquent orator, an anointed miracle worker, or a faithful, reliable, helpful church member, but: “Woe to me if I do not preach the gospel” (1 Cor. 9:16).
