Book Excerpt
The first year of high school is often called the hardest year in high school. This is because ninth-graders are exposed to a whole new world when they start high school. Classes may be located all over a huge building or campus of buildings. The students’ ages range from 14 to 18 or 19, and there’s a big difference between a 14-year-old and an 18-year-old. The students have to be more responsible than ever before and make their own decisions about a lot of things. Because of the many changes ninth-graders encounter, it’s important that you get off to a good start.
One of the ways that you, as a ninth-grader, can start your high school career on the positive side is to begin with positive routines that have helped other students. Most of these routines should start the first day you step into a high school building. It is important to start daily routines that will support your plan for success.
