THE CURSED CHILD

Yes, I am the cursed child, cursed in the womb.
Is that why I was imprisoned in that shack for 17 years,
only to be moved to a locked room under Mother’s castle
for almost as long? Was Mother ashamed of me, or was she
afraid of the curse? Did she know what was growing inside me?
I didn’t. I knew I had a dark side, an alter ego, and sometimes,
I would let her come out and play because she’s wicked.
She’s illusive, born of illusion. She appears, then vanishes.
She is me. The Illusive Sorceress.
