Martina Potucek-Palladino has had a lifelong love affair with books, magazines, and all things written. Martina was born in Prague, Czechoslovakia, and at the young age of 4, she and her family defected and settled temporarily in a refugee camp in West Germany. During their six-month transitory residency, they resided first in Zundorf, then Munster, and finally Krefeld. From their last stay, they flew from Koln Airport to America. Martina and her family settled in New Jersey. Martina has always aspired to write three types of books in her lifetime; a cookbook (three specific ones to be exact), her life’s journey, and a fantasy novel based on a dream she had many years ago. And yes, in that order. But instead, she opted to start with the creatively hardest one first… the fantasy fiction novel. As this story has been in her mind for years, it quickly turned into a series halfway through the first book. Her magical realism series, “Thru Eyes of REM…,” is uniquely narrated by the characters, allowing a reader to observe events as they unfold through that individual’s perspective and voice. Today, Martina writes for pleasure, enjoys freelancing as a magazine editor, has collaboratively ghostwritten/edited a non-fiction memoir, written for fashion magazines, is an accessories designer, a hair stylist, and a lash/brow extension specialist. In what's left of her spare time, Martina loves reading, gardening, cooking/baking, and spending time with her children and dog.
