Book Details

An old house can present both old and new problems

“You’re going to buy the place, aren’t you?” is a fictionalized account of what might have happened when an educated professional woman discovers that the house she has just bought in Pennsylvania had once been owned by a slave owner and housed a slave. She attempts, with some success, to find out what happened to the slave and in the process has several problems with the house. She also falls in love. The character, Negro Alexander, the house and the cistern are all real but the story connecting them is fiction.
