Book Details

“From victim to deep spiritual healing...”

This book started out as a way to express feelings that resulted from childhood trauma. Writings collected over a decade, started to show the changes that were taking place. Starting with the increase of awareness of an abusive past, to learning what abuse can do, to finally finding a stronger belief in Christ. Which resulted in a true transformation and a realization of how this pain can be overcome. It has a way to connect people with similar experiences, offers an opportunity for others to understand the consequences of abuse and shows that there is hope for a happy life and a returning to peace. It ended up being a testimony for God’s love for us. But is open to anyone, believer or not.

About the Author

Rieke Butt - A Wondering Soul

“A Wondering Soul” represents the part of the author that shares the experiences in this book. She was born in Canada, but raised for the majority of her childhood in Germany and was influenced by several cultural backgrounds. After being married and completing her education in nursing, she moved back to Canada with her family and resides in rural Alberta, Canada now. She is married to a loving husband, who is also a survivor, is mother to one son and has two wonderful grandchildren. Still loves being surrounded by nature and her animals. She took every opportunity to learn about abuse and tried different techniques of healing the consequences of such experiences. And has a compassion for women in need.
