Making Life an Adventure

Readers of Why Go There? will feel like they are traveling with Gerry and Carole on their adventures ... driving on a highway that goes right across the active airport runway in Gibraltar, admiring Christian carvings on the walls down in a salt mine in Poland, seeing people dressed in little else but body paint on Easter Island, learning why Greenlanders need a rifle when they go fishing, wanting an amazing Japanese toilet, viewing Mother Nature at her best in Patagonia, dancing in an Argentine tango hall, knowing why the Newfoundland 9/11 story told in the musical Come From Away is breaking box office sales. They are seasoned travelers who seek to meet the people, to understand the culture, and find the hidden places as well as visit the popular tourist spots. They say there would be no wars if people of all cultures could interact and see each other’s perspective. As you read the stories and enjoy over 200 pictures that help visualize the experiences from the nineteen countries visited in this book, you will travel with them the easy way ... in an armchair.
