NO WONDER I'M SO TIRED!

Author Connie Michelle Lerch surveyed family, friends, coworkers, and fellow soccer moms to develop a list of all the things moms do for their families. The general consensus was: I had no idea I was doing so much! She then compared it to a list of things these moms do for themselves. It wasn't pretty.

This is a book for the caregiver in all of us. You may be raising a family, going to school, working full time, and/or caring for elderly parents - but chances are you aren't taking much time to take care of you.

Hey Mom, What Do You Do For You? is a witty and touching tribute to motherhood. It is full of tips and advice designed to make your life easier. And above all else, it encourages all you caregivers to take some much needed time for yourselves - before you forget what you enjoy doing!

Book Excerpt

I have been listening to Moms talk about how tired they are. I had the opportunity to visit with a young Mom who was in the same hospital room as my (92yr)Grandmother. I asked her why she was in the hospital? She told me she was having chest pains. She thought she was having a heart attack. She explained that she was a single parent with six children. She was working full time and going back to school. I asked her, what do you do just for you? She replied, I don't have time to anything just for me.

It made me think of my Mom. She worked outside the home during the time it was expected that the Mom stay home and raise the family. Mom did both. When she went into the hospital for exhaustion she came home with new rules. Every day for 30 minutes she was not to be disturbed (unless emergency).
