As the eldest grandson of the inventor of the Ross® Root Feeder, a horticultural tool for feeding trees and rose bushes from the bottom upward, Marc Daniels decided to take the family vision to the next level by helping to root-nourish and protect society. He explored how fauna, flora, and songbirds influenced the great lyricists and composers and how we can draw from their works a deeper dimension of spiritual fulfillment while learning to protect our sensibilities from outside forces.

He takes us on an odyssey from the ecstasy of the Planten un Blomen Park in Hamburg to the depths of the industrialized murder machine in Dachau and back again. One must first have experienced ecstasies of love and bliss to comprehend the agonies of hate truly. We develop the kind of courageous wit and charm for rising back into the dimension of love: We acquire compassion for others’ suffering in times of joy. We draw hope and courage from the heavens in times of personal loss for better times. Marc helps us understand how weeding out hatred and planting spiritual roses can help us rise to the mountain top with hope for the Promised Land, prophesized by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Marc summarizes ten years of conversations with civil rights leaders and presidential candidates: As he engages them along the political rope lines, he promotes his platforms of urban farms, community gardens, and kindergardening as a spiritual gardening regimen for society—all with the kind of chutzpah and drama that only Shakespeare could have staged better. He choreographs and plays out virtual reality in real-time to facilitate spiritual reality for all time.
