ALUSALUV is a story about the Jenkins women who survived the struggles of lust to find that love actually exists. You are who you are no matter where you come from, but imagine escaping from a life of royalty to fall into the heart of a loved one or the hearts of lust. Can you imagine how a certain type of dance can be a life changing thrill of temptation? And imagine thinking you’re catching a cold or getting sick to find out that you’re pregnant instead; and having no knowledge of when or where it happened and not knowing who the father could be? How do you accept the person you grew up in love with loving wholeheartedly in hopes of having a future together for them to introduce you to their fiancée? Is it possible for a well-known establishment like Mister-Miss to be destroyed by fire and its unforbidden legacy still going strong as if it’s still in existence? Surely, we all have to agree that’s what is meant to be- will be, and what belongs together will be together? Is true love guided and protected by fate or is it like the saying, “It is what it is or whatever happens, happens?” We all know that lust is just as much a desire as love is; only to find that lust is a temporary thrill of side effects and some unwanted memories. Although the heart is divided between love and lust-to challenge love to lust, in the end, love always wins. Because where there is love, there is hope. Where there is love, there is faith. Where there is love, hope, and faith, there is God in the midst.

Writing has boosted my level of motivation to a new height to just write, live, and love; to strive each day to be a better me than I was before. Some things we go through in life are very challenging; but writing out my feelings and being able to express myself, I realized that we all can make a difference because we are who we are that makes us different; and we all can be a change because we all can change and will change as we live and learn throughout our experiences that teaches us much to learn from and take heed on a daily basis. To know that the difference and change we want to see anywhere or in others starts with self-first.
