Book Details

Find mossy fallen tree across a clear stream.
Sit on the trunk of it and live our dream.
Listen to nature sing the soothing songs.
Be part of rustic scene and sing along.
Do you see lush green mountains in the back.
Tucked in these surroundings will be our shack.
This is what I think heaven would be like.
No walkers, just few birds on a dike.

Amanullah Khan is passionate about Poetry. His previous book, Barefoot in the Rain, was a collection of villanelles. In Heaven in the Woods, he explores multiple styles of poetry, as he felt constrained by the villanelle format. He created a new means of expanding the expression of the villanelle’s composition. Thus, a new style of poetry, the Ballanelle, was born. It allows for the extension of thought and stretched imagination yet keeps the reader focused as in a villanelle. In Heaven in the Woods, he writes about themes such as family, nature and life.
