The things we go through for love

Experience the literary prequel to "Therapy for a Broken Heart," an insightful journey of human emotions through Christian D. Maddison's paragon, "Stages of Love." This captivating, insightful, and eclectic fusion blend of poetic balladry delves into the timeless, cascading spectrum of feelings and emotions experienced in every relationship, guiding us from its inception to its closure.

With its penetrating words, the book evokes a profound resonance within, with verses that delve into the core of your being, entrancing and rekindling vivid memories and thoughts of those individuals who once seemed inseparable and left an indelible mark on our hearts or continue to weave an unending tapestry of profound tenderness and closeness.

Whether they linger as an enduring enchantment or an unbroken cycle of affection, these paradigms traverse the landscapes of puppy love's innocence, the blooming of adoration and idealized perspectives, to the complex evolution it undergoes captivating, the allure of infatuation, and the eventual complexities that unfold. As you engage with the versifications that oscillate between love and disdain, clarity and confusion, thriving or faltering, embraced or rejected, lucid or bewildering, self-discovery takes form—unpacking your emotions, orchestrating a harmonious reconciliation, binding your essence, your sentiments, and the intricate interplay with the other,–reflecting on your connection with others, while scrutinizing and unveiling whether those feelings, those sentiments endure time or fade into the abyss of memories past, alongside their source.

Depression

I keep racking my brain and I’m going insane at the thought that your words bring bewilderment and suspicion, that makes me doubt…

You

Your kind words burn like acid
Your once sincere hugs now
scald me with the heat of a limitless sun

The kisses that used to greet me, now split the epidermis from my face mutilating me from the outside in
Is this payback for all my transgressions?

You are the sciatic pain that drains my soul
You are the worm without a hole
I saw myself drowning in you and no help was given
Not a hand, not a thought, nothing was considered
So, I became a walking puddle
Of self-loathing, despair, sadness, and grief
Always hiding it with a smile, just to seem sweet
When; would I get relief?

You constantly depleted me of confidence
I believed I was worthless, insignificant, useless
Doubting myself at every turn
Those hateful words are now etched onto my brain
like a Rorschach test,
It’s all demented
How did I get here and
how do I climb out of this void of hopelessness?

I don’t know

If I ask for help, I may seem crazy
The storm in my head is making me

I don’t care anymore, my life has no meaning
No one cares

I’m slowly weaning myself from society
Dark rooms, dark thoughts,
everything turning to Misery
I have lost all hope

Maybe it should all
