The story of Enfilade takes place in less than twenty- four hours. However, the gist of this shaggy dog story coveys a lot more. It is the tale of a naive second lieutenant’s first day in Vietnam. There is a lot for the young man to digest; a lot that runs contrary to what he knows, even what he thinks he knows. Yes, there are rogues and rascals, cowards and heroes, as well as a lengthy list of characters consigned to the dust bin of history. But it also has hope, even if, at times, it shows itself for what it really is: luck.
