An extraordinary teacher, Dr. Cathers is passionate about the written and revealed (revelatory insights) Word of God. He is devoted to prayer, meditation, and to the seeking of God’s Kingdom. (Matthew 6:33) This prayer has birthed profound insights about God’s kingdom of righteousness, peace, joy, healing, and prosperity that we can all access. He believes that everything comes out of our relationship with the Father. As Dr. Cathers teaches these truths, they are almost always followed by demonstrations of the gifts of the Spirit in healing, deliverance, and prophecy. Above all, he is a teacher dedicated to empowering future generations to walk in the fullness of their identity. Dr. Cathers was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, immigrated with his family to the United States at age four and was raised in Sylmar, California. At age twenty, Dr. Cathers attended Rhema Bible Training Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and at age twenty-three, he established his first church, which he pastored for twenty years. During this time, Dr. Cathers also established other churches and ministries, which included a Bible school. After receiving a word from God, Dr. Cathers gave up this church to begin a new work, which was to establish a Gathering Place learning center, which he is currently the Apostle over. The Gathering Place was established as a prototype of a new kind of church based on the righteousness of God and the right standing of believers in Him. The Gathering Place was ultimately birthed as God continued to reveal to Dr. Cathers the depths of a vision he received while attending Rhema regarding Hebrews 1:8 and righteousness. He was not trying to just start another church, because he already had one. Dr. Cathers knew he was called to establish a place of learning regarding the true nature of redeemed man, the Seed of Christ in us. At The Gathering Place, Dr. Cathers is teaching righteousness, the right standing we have with God, and is also revealing the love Father God has toward His creation, man, by doing what Jesus did: teaching, preaching, and healing.

Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? How then will you understand any parable.” (Mark 4:13) Jesus gives us the key to understanding how the kingdom works through the parable of the Sower in Mark, Chapter 4. He said, “Understand this parable and you will understand all parables”. Throughout this parable, the seed is the one constant, as it is the ground that changes. Jesus did not say that some of us have good ground and some of us have bad ground. He teaches us that we can transform our ground. Understanding this parable is the first step, however the key is learning how to traverse the different grounds in order to reach the good ground. Seed Prayer, prayer that combines speaking scripture (sowing seeds) and praying in the Holy Spirit (watering the seeds sown), applies the power of this parable to transform the ground we are sowing into, so that our seed can bear fruit. Seed prayer was developed over a period of years at our church in Northridge. Several members of our congregation gathered with me every morning and we all prayed for several hours together. This Seed Prayer revelation came out of those times of prayer. Understanding the revelation of the parable of the sower and applying its power, which is Seed Prayer, is the key to receiving other revelations of God and manifesting them in your lives. I urge you follow this principle of prayer daily, and as you do, your ground will be cultivated over time and transformed into good ground where your seed sown will produce fruit. I promise it will change your lives for the better, as it changed ours.
