About the Author

Vera Steppeler

Vera Charlotte Steppeler was born 1935 in Koenigsberg (now Kaliningrad) East Germany. She survived the bombing of her home literally by minutes and, after being evacuated, celebrated the end of WW II in Bavaria. Eventually she moved to Westphalia, where she got married and later emigrated to Canada for 3 years. Cincinnati was the last move where she still lives with her three children nearby, each one of them born in a different country. Vera is the author of “The Love Trap”, “World War II (through the eyes of a child)”, and has published her poem “I Remember” in the “For a Better World 2019” Book of Poems and Drawings on Peace and Justice (Editor Saad Ghosh). Vera finally decided to have some fun and started writing short stories, most of them in 100 words or less.
