Saved! What Do I Need To Be Saved From?

Most of the people in the world can sense that something is wrong. The world we live in is filled with evil and it seems to be getting worse every single day...Most of us have asked the question, “What is wrong with the world today?” or “What is wrong with people?” The people (races) are constantly doing evil things to one another. God’s story (the Gospel) tells us that “The LORD observed the extent of human wickedness on the earth, and he saw that everything they thought or imagined was consistently and totally evil.” Mankind’s very own heart is evil. What Adam and Eve did not know (having been in God’s presence since the day they were created) was that without God’s good presence to guide them through life, the only influence left would be evil. Evil is simply the absence of God and, because they wanted to live their own way, they were naturally separated from any influence from God because they had no connection to Him. They had taken on a new nature, a nature that was no longer influenced by God’s goodness but purely by the inclinations of their flesh. They were now trapped in this “sinful nature” which meant they could not turn to God, nor would they want to. The sad news is that this “sinful nature” has been passed from generation to generation and most of humanity is not even aware of it. But the “good news” is God has a plan. I want to tell you about that plan, God’s Story (Bible), in my own words.
