U.S. Marshall Lance Kincaid, and his deputy Hefty, arrived at Elizabethtown, finding themselves in the middle of the Colfax County War, being threatened by both sides and not knowing which side was in the right. After several attempts on his life, he finally reached the surprising answer to the where abouts of the surveyor and the reason for his disappearance.
