(Not on back cover) Madelyn Sawyer's aviation career began when she served in the United States Navy as an Air Traffic Controller. She then joined the ranks of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the Air Traffic and the Aviation Security Divisions. She was a Federal Air Marshal and a Special Agent for thirty-one years. She has two children, five grandchildren, is an avid outdoor enthusiast. Madelyn Sawyer is the author of three books: Hired to Protect, Hired to Defend, and Hired to Serve.
