Mary Ursula Salas-Tristan’s love and joy revolves around her husband Pedro, family, friends and taking photos of her special pets, Rocky and His Friends, in their “reality world” in Porterville, California. As a child, the author had raised Samoyed dogs, cats, rabbits, chickens, and was even active in horseback riding. Later, she even raised seahorses while attending college. She then met, married, and lived in Spain with her husband for 12 years, before moving back to the USA. While in Spain her beloved pets included more dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, turkeys, geese, a piggy, a peacock, sheep and beautiful ponies. Now her pets include Chihuahuas, a parrot, rabbits and a cat. It’s no wonder that her first and now her second book, should be photographs of her special pets living in a reality world. Rocky's books encourages literacy and bilingual language in a very engaging animal-friendly, child-loving manner for all children. The author’s multiple degrees/careers included: Nursing, B.A. Teaching, M.A. Teaching (Special Ed), studying Castilian Spanish in Spain, and teaching English in Spain. Extracurricular activity include: photography, volunteer missionary work, genealogy consultant, organic gardening, international cuisine cooking, pianist, volunteer service in the community.
