Flordelisa Mota has created a collection of poems which are exciting and touching. The book invites all readers to join in what she calls the "feast of fulfillment." The author grew up under a brutal dictatorship. The pain of her father’s persecution by the regime, made her use freedom as a symbol in her work. She with her husband and five children, suffered a cruel civil war. Because of the violence they left the Dominican Republic; the United States opened an opportunity for Flordelisa to live, learn English, and earn a college degree. She graduated from Hunter College with a BA in English in 2005. She works at Hunter as a creative writer tutor. Her book of poems Pink & Blue is an expression of the joy of freedom which manifest itself in nature. Her poetry has been praised nationally and internationally. In 2005 she was awarded Poets of New York: Olive Tree published her poem “Once Upon a Time.” Books published: Poems of Nature, 2005; Enchanted, 2007; El Evangelio, in Spanish, 2009; Pink & Blue, first edition, 2010; Pink & Blue, second edition, 2016.
