As a child, Opal Allen loved reading books so much that several of her teachers loaned her classroom books to read. That’s when she began reading novels such as Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice. Opal has written and published poems and other types of works, but she has always wanted to write stories for children. And, in September, 2014, she published her first children’s book entitled, Lenny the Lizard, which is the first book of the Bubby Series. The second book of the Bubby Series is entitled Bubby’s Fish Tale. Opal, who is a retired science teacher, has a husband, two grandchildren and a pet rat named Jo-Jo.

Who knew Uncle Jesse’s visit would be so much fun? The fun begins when Bubby and Uncle make a list of activities that everyone can do together. When Uncle Jesse suggests setting up a new aquarium in the den, Bubby is very excited. Fish-keeper Bob, at the Happy Pet Shop, also helps Bubby create the perfect aquarium. Bob and Bubby select just the right fish, because—according to Bob—a delightful aquarium will turn an ordinary den into a fabulous family room. Later, the aquarium inspires Grandma to create a fancy 2-D art project, which she displays on the wall in the kitchen. However, one day, something happens that could completely destroy the aquarium. It’s a good thing Uncle Jesse is there to save the day!
