I am now a widow but was married almost 30 years to my wonderful husband and friend Walter. I went to both East Los Angeles College, and California State University College and majored in Spanish at both schools. I worked as a teacher 26 years, 2 at St. Anthony’s school, 2 for Garvey school District and 22 years for Hacienda La Puente USD, as a bilingual teacher. I also worked at the Federal Building in Los Angeles, and was an interpreter at Ralph M. Parsons Co in Pasadena. I have 2 children, and have been a singer for over 25 years in various choirs, at my church St. John Vianney, St. Matthews Methodist, Whittier College, and have sung at the Hollywood bowl. Because of my gift I have been able to give back with my time and talent, and also belong to the PKD, AAKP and NKF which are all organizations to promote kidney awareness. I was on dialysis for almost a year, and was lucky to get a kidney sooner than most! GOD HAS BEEN GOOD to me! I have done all the things I set out to accomplish, get married, be a teacher, have children and sing.
