What others are saying about the Joe Lunchbucket Chronicles -

To Boomers One and All

Caution! Once you start down this path there may be no turning back. You will be compelled to reflect on those long summer days, your own rites of passage, that fair young maiden that twisted your heart into a pretzel, the boys of your youth that taunted, dared and lived the adventures at your side. What will you find? You will find good times. You will find sad times. You may find that the years have added perspective and made sense of many of the things you did. You will find that some of the things you did are still inexplicable. Are all of these issues covered in the Chronicles? In some form or fashion yes; although some may still be trapped in our memories.

The Joe Lunchbucket Chronicles are a collection of stories that share what may be universal “boomer” experiences. Maybe, just maybe, your stories may not be so far off the beaten path from that which Joe Lunchbucket has traveled. Maybe you will find yourself in these stories. Maybe these Chronicles will bring to mind memories of your own days of high adventure.

Joe Lunchbucket came to grips with the fact that neither he nor his experiences were unique unto themselves. What he discovered was that the collection of people, the times, events and places shared were unique. The Chronicles cannot just be stories to the reader; they need to be the gateway to your own remembrances. If you let yourself drift a little bit, stare off into space, you will soon find yourself, as Joe did, right back in the thick of it. You will find your own magical time and place. It’s there waiting for you. Get going!

What you will find in -

The Music Men

In a time long, long ago when rock and roll was still a fairly new genre of music, lyrics were understandable and there was a definitive melodic beat, the music, the times and the miracle of friendship and kindred spirits gave birth to a local combo. From the humble beginnings of four young lads, three with guitars and one willing to try pounding on a set of drums, grew a rock band that made its mark on the Chicago area music scene. Are we talking about the Fab Four from Liverpool? Well, in a word, no. While not destined to grow to a regional or national sensation, these young men carved out a niche and a following that is still fresh in the memories of those that knew, enjoyed and followed “The Sultans”.
