After almost 50 years of silence, “Weapons of War” has allowed me the opportunity to share my personal story of military service during the Vietnam Era. A time when thousands of men and women who served in the branches of the Armed Services overcame danger, hardship, loneliness, despair and even the loss of life. A time when (especially the combat soldier) service men and women were not viewed as heroes nor well received upon their return home from the war. But, in-spite of all the persecution, I will always be grateful for how the United States Army took a “Raw Recruit” (me) and developed a trained Combat Soldier and proved Leader.
