A journey filled with adventure, hardship, excitement, inspiration, and perseverance!

Set in the 1960s, Walking in Daddy’s Shadow tells the story of Ben Trent, a boy whose mother is killed when he is just two years old. His father, Kayne, is given a military leave of absence to care for his son and spends the next ten years preparing young Ben to take on the challenges of life. But when Ben is 12 years old, Kayne is called to active duty, leaving Ben in the care of his father’s best friend. When a year later Ben learns his dad’s helicopter has gone down in the jungles of Vietnam, trouble begins to brew between Ben and his caregiver. Already carrying a heavy burden, Ben sets out on a 400-mile hiking trip with his dog Buster to seek the guidance of his only living relative, a wise old great-grandmother named Hannah. This remarkable young man—armed only with his father’s training and an unshakable faith in God—will encounter many difficulties and challenges on his journey and form unbreakable bonds with some of the characters he meets along the way.
