About the Author

Leon Jones

My name is Leon Jones. Born May 24,1957 in Odessa, TX Leon began sketching in pastels at the age of 9, although his true artistic ability was not realized until he started dabbling in oils at the age of 15. Leon took up residence in Southern California in 1984 after leaving Denver, CO. which was his home for over 15 years. Old friends and neighbors are often reminded of him as his paintings grace the walls in many of their homes. Having no formal training or instruction, Leon’s paintings reflect the world around him. The glitz and glamour of Hollywood, so prevalent at Universal City Walk, is the source of inspiration for Leon's current work. His airbrushed portraits of movie stars and other well-known celebrities in both the film and music industries continue to draw public attention, including the occasional person(s) claiming to be "close friends" or "family members" of a few of his celebrity subjects. Some of his more well known clients include Dr. Dre, Isabella Fiore, Rebecca Romjin, Daz Dillinger, Beverly Green (Snoop's Mom) and Michael Jackson as well as numerous recording artists under the Interscope Geffen A&M record labels. His work can be found in many homes and establishments in the greater L.A. /Orange County areas, including Medieval Times in Buena Park, the Fox 11 Newsroom, Universal Music Groups headquarters in Santa Monica and Neverland Ranch. He is known to Hollywood as "The Art Man".
