Book Details

The Twins' Café is a work of fiction set around the January 1958 uprising of the Ku Klux Klan and the Lumbee and Tuscarora Indians of eastern North Carolina. The Indians were successful in fending off the Ku Klux Klan. This book provides a look into the lives of the characters during the 1940's, 50's and into the 1960's. The Reyelle twins are prominent characters and members of the Klan. They own a café in the town of Leedsburg and many of the recipes in the book come from their menu. Many of the characters are dumb as a gourd.
