Hosea Montgomery Jr. was born in Beatrice, Alabama. He and his wife of 49 years, Elma Watts Montgomery (deceased), had four children: Gary (deceased), Christal, Sheron, and Darold. Rev. Montgomery served as a pastor of God’s people for over 44 years before he became Pastor Emeritus at Bethlehem United Missionary Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida, where he served 27 years. He holds an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, and honorary doctorate degrees.
