My Path to Entrepreneurship: I’ve been in business for more than twenty-five years. I was the first African American to hold a position in the top one percent of independent contractors for a Fortune 500 company. I now own five companies of my own. I’ve achieved my personal definition of success, and I live my life the way I feel it was meant to be enjoyed. But I wasn’t born into success. I grew up in a lower-middle-class family. Two months before I graduated from high school, I lost my father, and that made it very hard for me to go to college. I had to help my mother with my younger siblings. I realized early on that a nine-to-five job wasn’t for me. So I built my path to entrepreneurship from the ground up, using the principles I’m about to share with you. You can build that path, too. To do it, you’ve got to become a point guard entrepreneur.
