Rev. Les Wicker grew up in North Carolina. After graduating from Greensboro College, he attended The Divinity School of Duke University, and later received a PhD in family studies from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He has served churches in North Carolina, Wisconsin, and Florida. He and his wife, Phyllis, have two sons, Robin and Dale, who along with their families, live in Florida and North Carolina.
Dr. Wicker has received denominational awards for church growth in North Carolina, Florida, and Wisconsin. He was awarded the Distinguished Public Service Award by The Board of County Commissioners of Catawba County, Newton, North Carolina for outstanding community work.
Dr. Wicker is the author of Preparing Couples for Marriage, and The Fundraising Guidebook for Benefit Golf Tournaments. He has led numerous seminars on church growth and marketing.
