Carly, an 8 year old girl, dreams about visiting far away places every night. A magical dragon listens to her dreams and knows he must meet her. On the first night, Carly is scared when the medium size, multicolored dragon appears in her bedroom and starts talking to her. Her natural curiosity easily overcomes her fear and she asks him many questions on the second night. She must give him a special name after which the dragon promises to take her on adventures to visit real places.

The adventures are beautifully written and full of excitement—sliding down rainbows in Hawaii, climbing the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, swimming with dolphins, and even attending a dragon party in a rainbow-lit cave. The story doesn’t just entertain; it gently teaches children about courage, friendship, and the joy of exploring new places.
 
The illustrations are vibrant and magical, perfectly matching the charm of the story. My favorite part is how Carly shares her adventures with her brother and sister, making this book a celebration of family and togetherness.
