A personal story of domestic abuse.

Hi, my name is Jennifer Presley. I wrote a book about my life where I wrote about how the people who adopted me verbally and physically abused me. They hated me so much that they spent their entire life trying to kill me. When I wrote this book I wrote it with the intentions of it being a self-help book. When I did my research in college I found out that millions of people in this world are suffering the same way I did. So I took my outrage and my experience and used it to help other victims of domestic abuse. I want to see the suicide rate drop down to zero right where it belongs. If anybody knew me personally you will all know that it is impossible for me to open up to people. Sam and Jerome (the people who adopted me) literally forced me to keep my mouth shut. Every time that I told someone about what Sam and Jerome did to me they would always find out and then they would beat me for it. So I’m hoping that if I open up and share my story then I can get the other quiet and shy ones to open up and share their story and to seek help if they need it. The statistics got me really angry. Statistics say that, sadly, child abuse is reported on average every ten seconds and each day in the US more than four children have died as a result of abuse in the home. Please seek help right away if you are experiencing problems.
