About the Author

lawrence e. wood

Lawrence E. Wood has had a life-long interest in the political process. Following a four-year stint in the U.S. Navy, in 1965 he returned to Chester County, PA., to begin the private practice of law. He served as an assistant district attorney and an assistant public defender, and was active in the County Young Republicans from 1965 to 1971. In 1971, he joined forces with a small group of dissident Republicans who challenged the Republican machine over the next 10 years. During that time he was elected County Controller, and in 1980 he was appointed by then-Governor Dick Thornburgh to serve as a Judge in Chester County. He served in that capacity until October 2006, when he returned to the private practice of the law.
