About the Author

Timothy Michael Jones

For the past 30 years Mr. Jones has taught students with special needs. His extensive background includes teaching children who are autistic, blind and visually impaired, children with learning disabilities, and students who have emotional and behavioral problems. Additionally, Mr. Jones taught children with psychiatric disorders at The Ohio State University. Mr. Jones has witnessed first-hand children who have been abused and neglected in his role as a Child Investigator for Child Protective Services. Mr. Jones’ love for children has taken him to Asia three times. In 1995 he was one of 50 teachers in America to attend the International Special Education Conference in Beijing, China. He returned to China again in 2004. This time to teach English to Chinese students in Shanghai. In 2010 Mr. Jones traveled to Asia for a third time. For 10 weeks he volunteered in the Philippines to develop a program for blind and visually impaired children. Mr. Jones is the father of three adult children and currently lives in Columbus, Ohio with his wife CJ. He continues to teach children who have severe emotional and behavioral problems.
