If you were born in America and within 100 years of slavery, you can see the scars and feel the pains of a young and growing nation. You know the man was right in his teachings he enforced . . . don’t ever teach them how to read . . . they were held back from congregating in groups of more than three at a time . . . they were mixed and matched and sold as property . . . beat and branded and used as their wives . . . burnt and killed and has exposed a culture that was there at the beginning and will be there to the end. After all the hurt has been dealt and all the suffering has been lived out, and the ashes again indeed become ashes, realization will suddenly become reality as it’s revealed that we are all cut of the same cloth.
