I have been in and around the beauty industry my entire life. One could say I was born into it as my parents met in beauty school in the late 1950’s. Although I have never aspired to do hair styling, cutting or coloring (too much work), I guess it was inevitable that I ended up in the salon biz working with hair in some capacity. There’s nothing like a busy salon on a Saturday morning. The sound of clients talking with their hair techs and the blow dryers going at full blast feels like a big noisy embrace. The smell of hairspray, hair color and perm solution filling the air is like the aroma of freshly baked bread to me. I get the warm and fuzzies. Customer service is the best part of my job. Every practitioner brings his/her specialty to the show, but talent aside, how you treat people with respect, dignity and professionalism is just as important. I like to be entertaining as well, as all I do is uncomfortable……at best. No one wants a bitch zapping or ripping their hair out! Know what I mean? I am a graduate of the Bucks County School of Beauty Culture and have been a licensed/certified hair removal specialist since 1993. I have waxed and zapped countless humans and to date I have never been beaten up in a parking lot by a client! I'm proud of that!
