Book Details

Bob and Erin were, on the surface, diametrically opposites—he was a divorced Air Force retiree with a well-earned lascivious reputation. She was an Air Force reservist, a mother, and the wife of a pastor. When their paths crossed several times over they felt compelled to connect. What had begun as a casual friendship quickly blossomed into something deeper. Erin tried to extricate herself before her heart wanted what it should not have. Despite Erin’s reservations, Bob pushed the relationship into what could have been considered a full blown affair. The two had fallen close to in love, but were keenly aware that a future together would have been little more than a dream.

Book Excerpt

I took her in my arms and gave her a warm and very passionate wet kiss. It was our first kiss. She responded and gave an involuntary moan. I quickly released her and looked away. She was like a two lane country road, full of twists, turns and dangerous curves. I did not know if it was safe to speed up or to slow down. Each curve seemed beset with surprises. I thought strongly about living in a time of ‘anything goes morality’. Our indiscretions were viewed as everyday happenings. Society had relaxed it mores on bad behavior. There were times when I disagreed with society’s acceptance of our behavior. So, why was I there with Erin and contributing? Simple, I was still very much addicted to sex and did not view it as bad behavior. Four decades prior, this would have been viewed as extremely ugly.

About the Author

R. H. Liggins

R.H. Liggins is a retired Air Force veteran, saw combat during his multiple tours in Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. He developed a lifelong compassion for writing fiction since his pre-teen days. He credits this compassion partly to the introduction of novels by his best friend of the time, Robert Lenel Jackson. It started his ventures to differentiate facts from fictions. He has found fictions to be more exciting than facts. He finds ‘street corner’ philosophers to be more colorful than philosophers with academic credits. The author was born in Baltimore, Maryland and spent his formative years through college there before joining the Air Force. He relocated in Dayton, Ohio, as a last stop of many in his decorative career in the United States Air Force, where he resided for more than twenty years. He now lives in Columbia, South Carolina.
