Kimberley Shumard

Since the age of nine, author K.D. Shumard has been inspired by the many sites and sounds of the Native American Peoples, the Southwest, the Colorado Rocky Mountains and the open wilderness of Alaska. During an Alaskan vacation, the author had the opportunity to observe the bald eagle in its’ natural habitat in the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve near Haines, Alaska. Previously published in two newspapers as a Staff Writer, Ms. Shumard has drawn upon her personal life experiences and research on the bald eagles, communications, and psychology to write a series of inspirational books. A graduate of Michigan State University, Ms. Shumard holds a B.A. in Communication Arts and Sciences, an MBA focused in Project Management. Now able to enjoy the southwestern lifestyle she has long strived for, Ms. Shumard lives in the mountains of Southern Colorado with her husband Randy.
